7 year old Mare • Friesian • 15 hh
Story
Overview
Keva is a 7-year-old registered Friesian Sporthorse mare who has been my personal horse for the past 3.5 years. She was not purchased as a resale project or rescue — she came into my program as a young mare and has had consistent, thoughtful development from the start.
She is kind, intelligent, and highly people-oriented. Day-to-day she is uncomplicated to manage: she ties, bathes, clips, loads, and hauls well. She has no behavioral vices. She is a horse who genuinely enjoys her work and has clear preferences about the job she loves most.
Training & experience
Keva spent approximately 1.5 years in a structured lesson program, carrying riders of varying ages and experience levels. During that time she participated in summer camps, carried junior riders in flatwork and over fences, gained mileage in busy multi-horse environments, and showed competitively in both dressage and hunter/jumper divisions.
Under saddle she has been schooled through First Level dressage and comfortably jumps courses in the 2'3"–2'6" range. She has also logged trail miles and is not spooky — but her passion is clearly the arena. She is more confident, more focused, and more engaged when given a consistent job over fences. Jumping is where she shines.
She is also broke to drive.
Condition & development
Keva has been in an active body conditioning program over the past several months, with focused attention on correct muscling, shoulder stability, core engagement, topline development, and hind-end strength. A recent bodywork evaluation noted improved relaxation and muscling throughout. She is continuing to build fitness heading into spring — like many horses who had lighter winter work — and is on an upward trajectory.
She benefits from consistent, correct work and will continue to develop beautifully in the right program.
Ideal rider & program
Keva is responsive and sensitive — in the best way. She rides beautifully with soft, correct aids and rewards a light, educated hand and a balanced, independent seat. She is best suited for an adult amateur, capable junior, or professional who values correct, progressive work and appreciates a willing, athletic mare with a strong work ethic.
A properly fitted saddle by a qualified saddler is strongly recommended to support her continued muscling and comfort. She would excel in a consistent arena-based program centered on dressage, jumping, or both.
Why she's available
Keva is not being sold due to limitations. She is being offered because she deserves a program that centers on the work she loves most — structured arena work and jumping. She has real mileage, correct development, and plenty of upside. The right home will get a lot of horse.
